    Jdk 1.1.8 on Win7  x64

I have a Windows 7 64 bit system. I need to install jdk 1.1.8 for Oracle Mobile supplychain framework. From Metalink, I found the following shockwave tutorial-
Oracle Mobile Applications (MSCA/WMS) Graphical User Interface [Video] [ID 294670.1].

The MobileApplicationsGUIClient.pdf document mentiones the download link as - http://java.sun.com/products/archive/jdk/1.1.8_010/index.html.
      to download jdk 1.1.8, but it shows jdk1.1.8 for Windows 95 / 98 / 2000/ NT 4.0 (Intel Platform).

Is this compatible with Windows 7 or is there another jdk 1.1.8 for Windows 7 x64 ?

      Please let me know.

Just don't do it. JDK 1.1.8 is so incredibly old, it even predates 64 bits systems. If you HAVE to install it, install it on a 32 bits WindowsXP box. But just don't do it, it is too old, it should be left dead and buried. Whatever you think you need to install that needs this ancient software, find a better, more current solution.

And the last version in the 1.1.X line can be downloaded from the archive here:

          (look for JDK 1.1)

JDK 1.1.8 is approximately 13 years old.
I would ask your Oracle representative (rather than via a forum) what they recommend you do to have a supported configuration.

We use the Sun 1.3.1_20 jre on Windows 7. Not sure if this will work in 64 bit. We see the bugs/behavior issues with the 1.4.x or higher jre's. So 1.3.1_xx is just as good as 1.1.8 JDK.

The original post was more than a year ago.
