Using IFNULL returns failure on a custom field

Hello. I want to create a field with a value of zero if a shipment appointment date is null and a value of 1 if the appointment date is not null. This is in Fusion Transportation Intelligence (OBI integrated into Oracle Transportation Management). I had thought that the this would do the job:

      CASE IFNULL("- Stop Pickup Details"."Appointment Delivery",0) WHEN 0 THEN 0 ELSE 1

      The error returned is:

      +[nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 27002] Near <,>: Syntax error [nQSError: 26012] . (HY000)+

Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks very much.
