      I am getting below error when trying to connect to 11.2.0.2 RAC database. Please can I know if JDBC 10.2.0.3.0 is compatible with 11.2.0.2 RAC database.

          12505, 00000, "TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor"
          // *Cause:  The listener received a request to establish a connection to a
          // database or other service. The connect descriptor received by the listener
          // specified a SID for an instance (usually a database instance) that either
          // has not yet dynamically registered with the listener or has not been
          // statically configured for the listener. This may be a temporary condition
          // such as after the listener has started, but before the database instance
          // has registered with the listener.
          // *Action:
          //  - Wait a moment and try to connect a second time.
          //  - Check which instances are currently known by the listener by executing:
          //    lsnrctl services <listener name>
          //  - Check that the SID parameter in the connect descriptor specifies
          //    an instance known by the listener.
          //  - Check for an event in the listener.log file.
          when was last time this worked without error?
          what changed since then?

            I can connect successfully using sqlplus DWH_OPS/DWH_OPS@//cc2pre01cl:1521/DWH

            but can't connect with

            db.driver.name=oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
            db.user=DWH_OPS
            db.password=DWH_OPS
            db.dsn=jdbc:oracle:thin:@cc2pre01cl.youview.tv:1521:DWH
            db.min.pool.size=1
            db.max.pool.size=3

            The only difference is sqlplus connects via tnsnames.ora and the above file via JDBC driver

            thanks
