Hi,

I am not able to install "Oracle-iPlanet-Web-Server-7.0.9-linux-x64.zip (RHEL 64 bit version)" in RHEL 6.0 (64 bit ).

Please have a look below for environment details of my RHEL 6.0 (64 bit):

[root@AnilRout WB7.0.9]# uname -a
Linux AnilRout 2.6.32-71.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Sep 1 01:33:01 EDT 2010 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

[root@AnilRout WB7.0.9]# java -version
java version "1.6.0_26"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_26-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.1-b02, mixed mode)

[root@AnilRout WB7.0.9]# ls –lr
total 138904
drwxrwxrwx. 3 root root 4096 Jul 4 2010 WebServer
-rwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 22792 Jul 4 2010 setup
-rwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 786 Jul 4 2010 README.txt
-rwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 142194049 Jun 27 16:53 Oracle-iPlanet-Web-Server-7.0.9-linux-x64.zip
drwxrwxrwx. 2 root root 4096 Jul 4 2010 Legal

[root@AnilRout WB7.0.9]# ./setup --console
Attach to native process failed
[root@AnilRout WB7.0.9]#
But I had no issue while installing "Oracle-iPlanet-Web-Server-7.0.9-linux-x64.zip (RHEL 64 bit version)" in RHEL 5.0 (64 bit ) though I had upgraded the jdk to same version as above (i.e. jdk1.6.0_26).

Please suggest me if I am forgetting something or this combination does not support (i.e installation of "Oracle-iPlanet-Web-Server-7.0.9-linux-x64.zip (RHEL 64 bit version)" in RHEL 6.0 (64 bit )).

    Can you contact Oracle support?

Can you try with a different javahome?

    $./setup --help
Usage: setup [--help] [--id] [--silent statefile] [--console] [--savestate] [--j avahome jdk_dir]

you probably need to install appropriate compat-* libraries. please look for all compat-* libraries in RHEL6 and install them.

    Hi All,

Thanks a lot for your responses.

Now I am able to install but after successful installation of Oracle iPlanet web server_7.0.9_x64 in RHEL 6_x64, the configuration is failing.
I tried to trouble shoot the issues according to the error message displayed in the install.log file.

Every time after fixing one issue (by installing missing library files) I am getting another issue.

After fixing many issues, now I am getting the below error message in the install.log file for which I am not finding any solution:

    WARNING: /opt/oracle/webserver7/lib/libadminjni.so:
    /opt/oracle/webserver7/lib/libfreebl3.so: version `NSSRAWHASH_3.12.3' not found

    java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /opt/oracle/webserver7/lib/libadminjni.so:
    /opt/oracle/webserver7/lib/libfreebl3.so: version `NSSRAWHASH_3.12.3' not found
    (required by /lib64/libcrypt.so.1)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.load(Native Method)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary0(ClassLoader.java:1803)

    Enter {"!" exits} !

Any solution is there for this issue so that configuration will not fail after successful installation.

    Thanks in advance..

See "lib/libfreebl3.so: version `NSSRAWHASH_3.12.3' not found"!!
    and
    http://www.jmccabe.org/blog/fedora11_sunwebserver

Can you test latest server 7.0 u11? I remember somebody from other teams telling me this was fixed in that but not sure if it fixes the problem.

    Hi,

I have also faced the same problem.

Solution of this problem is that,

1: Install Web Server 7.0.9 on RHEL 5. Example location /sun/webserver
    2: Move the installed content i.e. /sun/webserver from RHEL5 to RHEL 6
3: Install same JDK version on RHEL6 which you have installed on RHEL 5
4: Replace webserver libfreebl3.so with OS libfreebl3.so on RHEL 6

    Example:

If you are using 32 bit webserver then

    cp /lib/libfreebl3.so /sun/webserver7/lib

If you are using 64 bit webserver then

    cp /lib64/libfreebl3.so /sun/webserver7/lib

    Regards,
    Nagendra
