Hi Mr. F,
You can use multiple adapters in one FDM App. You create new Locations that use the new Essbase adapter, and then Import Format for that location.
The way I do a Planning app with multiple plan types is to have one essbase adapter for each plan type (Cube). It stays pretty organized this way and you can put everything in your original FDM App's tablespace.
Which version of FDM?
Thanks, Robb, Based on your reply, it seems like I can use the current FDM application (for HFM) for 2 more essbase cubes.
I was able to improt and register Essbase dll and xml and assign application and database name (Originally Sample/Basic) however I dont' see the cube dimensions in FDM. Do I select 'synchronize' to configure the adaptor?
Tony, I am using version 11.1.13
If I recall correctly, there was an issue with Drill Through and multiple Essbase adaptors in the same FDM app in that version. I may be wrong on the exact version but it was fixed in 220.127.116.11. This is an excerpt from the App Readme for 18.104.22.168:
Fixed a bug that could prevent drill through from Essbase to FDM.
Something to keep in mind.
In terms of registering the adaptor and connecting it to the Essbase app.db, take a look at the Adaptor readme that can be downloaded from here. There are instructions on the steps you need to take:
Tony, I'm unable to locate this bug on Oracle Support nor in the readmes. Do you have a link or a kb article #?
As far as I know, it was an unpublished bug.
