Generic way to use ACL mechanisms

      Dear forum members,

I use JNDI to communicate with LDAP servers. I want to use the server Access Control List (ACL) mechanism. I read more about the LDAP servers ACL implementation and I am confused by the fact that each server has it's different implementation of ACL mechanisma (by "implementation" I mean the LDAP server commands to control the ACL mechanism).
The question is that I is there a generic way to communicate with the LDAP server ACL mechanism (e.g. set entity acl permission) via JNDI?
