EPM configurator for Oracle HTTP web server for 11.1.2.1 fails

      Gurus,

We are installing 11.1.2.1 as part of upgrade from 9.3.3 version.

On apptier: Machine A: Already installed and configured foundation services webapp
On webtier:Machine B: Downloaded all assemblies and trying to install OHS on this server. After launching installtool selected install components individually -> Selected Oracle HTTP Server and Static Content files. Install itself goes through successfully however when I launch EPM configurator errors out with:

EPM Installer is laying out the directory structure as D:\Oracle\Middleware\oracle_common\modules
EPM Configurator is expecting jar files to be in path D:\Oracle\Middleware\modules

All assemblies mentioned in Page 35 for windows 2008 (64bit) and system installer are downloaded from edelivery when doing this installation:

      Oracle HTTP Server
      Required Assemblies
      l commonComponents
      l essbaseProductCommonComponents
      l ocm
      l productCommonComponents
      l tools

      l ohs
      l oracle_common
      l WebLogic upgrade jar file

      Research done so far:
Verified Doc id: EPM v11.1.2 Configuration Tool Does Not Launch Because Of Missing Jar Files (Doc ID 1088031.1)
None of the things mentioned in the doc apply to the environment where EPM configurator is failing.

I have weblogic server installed and webapp deployed already on apptier: machine A and everything( install, configuration) went through fine.
After that was trying to install OHS on webtier and encountered this problem. Did anyone out there also have same issues?

I installed EPM 11.1.2.1 on clear environment (Windows 2003 SP2 x64) and got exactly the same messages:

When i opened C:\oracle\Middleware folder, i note that many generally existing folders (like wlserver_10.3) doesn't exists.
So, i run one more time EPM Installer->New Installation->Choose components Individually->Foundation Services->Foundation Components and found that WebLogic Application Server is not installed. After installation of it - the issue disappeared.

I had the same issues when installing on windows server 2003 sp2
so during configuration selected the iis server , works well,

also if you stilll want to use the http server try to install on any other server like 2008 enterprise or windows 7.

            thanks

The error is because Weblogic jars are missing which are necessary for the configuration to work.Even though you require OHS alone in one machine, you need to install Weblogic components with it because of depend libraries.

              Hope this helps

I have installed the hyperion products with one id and tried to configured it with different id then i got the same problem. Once i used the same id there is no problem at all. I could able to successfully configure the shared services.

I'm trying to install EPM 11.1.2.2 on windows 7.. I'm getting the same error. jars manifest check failed.. some referenced jars do not exist.. i installed all the components and installation is successful but configuration fails.
                  Trying to solve the issue.
Any help would be a lifesaver.

                      Hi all,

The error was some how related to the installation of Weblogic Server .. As some one had mentioned in this thread earlier.. You just have to run installTool.cmd again and manually select weblogic server under foundation and install it.

If some issue like this comes again do check wether all the directories under oracle->middleware are there or else you have missed out something while installing.
Thanks John and all the other contribution.

                      Regards
