Unable to install Oracle Database 11g

Dear Oracle,

Hello! This is Nathan Koepke, and I am having some trouble installing Oracle Database 11g. I launched the Oracle installer via setup.exe with administrative privileges like normal, but instead of the Setup Wizard I get a java.lang.NullPointerException error. What is wrong here because it seems to be occurring within the Java language runtime instead of the actual installer. I need this database for my college coursework and it is frustrating that this cannot work amongst my server processes which are running MySQL, Tomcat, Apache, and PostGreSQL and if you can help me here ASAP that would be greatly appreciated.
