Webcache 11g and Portal 11g with SSL

    David Pulliam
I am having a problem that I am unsure how to fix. My oracle portal 11g works fine through webcache as long as I do not run it SSL. I have SSL wallets loaded and configured and everything else runs fine SSL but when I try to access portal, the pages do not load but instead try to download as a file download. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Here is what I am seeing in HTTP headers:

      https://<url>:<url>/portal/pls/portal/DEV_PORTAL.home

          Hi,
Normally when it prompts to download a file when in SSL mode, it seems to indicate that the parallel page engine was not configured for SSL. Something to try:

          1. Login to the Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Fusion Middleware Control and expand Portal and select the portal (WLS_PORTAL) node.
          2. From the Oracle Portal home page's drop down menu, select Settings > Page Engine.
          3. Enter Use Port to point to the SSL Port which will be used to access Portal (443). Enter Use Scheme ‘https’ and click Apply.
          4. Restart the Portal managed server and test again.
