I´am trying to create my own local yum repository server by following oracle doc
At the point where I have to use the download script -->4. Populate the repository Download 167283.sh
I´m getting a system error --> This system may not be updated until it is associated with a channel
But I have used the https://linux.oracle.com to provide add subscription to my host.
Also attached error message from var/log/up2date
Thu Aug 18 12:12:52 2011] up2date updating login info

Step 4b from that whitepaper states:
"Register the machine to correct latest and addons channels."
I think this is clear, but maybe not. I am the maintainer of both the white paper and script as well as one of the main ULN devs, so it's possible I'm too close to it to describe the setup accurately. If you find the verbiage unclear, please feel free to make any suggestions and I'll try to get them in to the next revision.q
after a year by reinstalling my repo server I run into the same error again :-L
My Problem at this moment was I run ORACLE Linux 5.X and I do no include the ENTERPRISE Linux 5 Addon channel for that uln-yum-proxy package. :-)
bye the way... for installation the httpd repo ( first time ./167283.sh) server you also need the ENTERPRISE Linux 5 Latest. Otherwise the httpd server package could not be found !!
update --> OMG...the OL5_u8_base(installation Media repo) also can install the httpd :-L
