Hmm, i've installed Solaris 10 and 11 on quite a few different HP/Fujitsu PC's and it seems to work out of the box. The only issue have been some wireless adapters, which i don't use anyway.
I think the most critical point is drivers for the graphic cards if you need X, but the standard graphiccards seems to work quite well, and Nvidia have drivers for Solaris..
I can install it on the current workstation as long as I'm not using the built in RAID on the motherboard. However if I configure a RAID 5 array with 3 disks, the install comes back and says it didn't find any hard disks. I really need to be able to use the hardware RAID. Any suggestions?
Why do you need hardware raid? Use ZFS instead, which is much better and cooler. And you do know that if you want to use ZFS, then you should avoid hardware raid? Read the wikipedia article on ZFS.
