XE 11.2 Windows 64

Kris Rice-OracleSep 2 2011 — edited Nov 28 2012
Windows x64 is planned and will be coming out as soon as it's ready. I did not want hold up getting the Win32 and Linux64 out since those were ready to go.

Do you have an ETA on when the 64 bit will come out? I need this for a class that started last week, and the 32 bit installs with the \KEY_XE.reg errors, and then even after it does install, I cant run it.

Thanks.

ditto since all our devs are moving to Windows 64 bit to better match the Windows 2008 r2 servers we use. (i.e. IIS7.5, 64 bit etc)

Hello,

Is there anybody going to answer this question (more than 6 months old now)?
Windows 64 bits are very common today and a silent install of 11g XE on these machines is impossible.
We are waiting for years this release and we have the feeling that it will never arrive.
Can anybody give us some information?

Best regards,
Adrian

I take it this was canned and nobody can be bothered to tell us.
Maybe XE 12 will be 64 bit on Windows.

I would second that guess. I've been having trouble installing Standard on my laptop and had hoped to do an end-around the problem by installing Express, but it looks like after a year of "it's just around the corner" Oracle has just decided to ignore our requests altogether.

I guess there's always SQL Server...

Any news on this?
32bits did not work on our Win7 64bit Laptop and its desperately needed here for offline development where our big Oracle installation is not accessible.
Thanks in advance!

Can someone from Oracle please update on the status of 11g XE for win64? Even if it is to say that it will not be released so we can start making alternative plans instead of waiting indefinitely.
Thanks

I have just migrated to a 64bits machine with window7, and I’m surprised to find out there is no version available.
But I’m really amazed to find out there is no information from oracle corporation concerning this topic, if it is planned to have a release or not, when…

Since it's been over a year since the last update from Oracle, can we please get a current update regarding the XE 11 Windows 64 bit version? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Please note that I have been able to use "XP Mode" VM, and that this appears to be working for what I need.
