Run queue length (number of processes waiting for run time).
On Linux/Unix you can use uptime:
The uptime command prints the current time, the length of
time the system has been up, and the average number of jobs
in the run queue over the last 1, 5 and 15 minutes.
You can find number of useful “run queue length”-related metrics (under Load) if you use Oracle Enterprise Manager (Grid Control) to monitor the host.
