is there a way that i can do all these in an windows environment. am facing the same issue as this Thread. but not able to resolve it with the commands provided in the Solution.

If you are getting the shared memory realm error, that is often a wrong ORACLE_SID. Windows runs through a hierarchy to figure out the SID, so try setting it explicitly in a command window before going into sqlplus.
