ORDM and ORPOS are very different, they almost have nothing to do with eachother except that ORDM may support some of the business processes supported by ORPOS. ORDM is a datawarehouse model and ETL provided by the Oracle Database server group (an option to the DBMS license), while ORPOS is a point of sale application provided by the ORGBU (Oracle Retail Global Business Unit, the former Retek/360 Commerce etc. acquisitions).
Hope this helps,
Thanks for the reply.
So, ORDM is a datawarehouse model which could be used for the analytics purpose like generating reports on the organisation's performance, having key performance indicators to measure up the metrics.
And, Oracle Retail PoS Suite is a Point of Sale Application which can be used to carry out the activities related to point of sale.
Please let me know if my understanding is appropriate.
Thanks in Advance for the help.
You are right, spot on.
