      error receive on oracle vm server

      Buffer I/O error on device dm-2, Logical bock 195825888

      Can any have idea pleases

          What storage type are you using? This can occur if your storage doesn't support write barriers, which I suspect may be the case with NFS.

                  What OS are you running on? Include the exact kernel version.

                  FWIW, until pretty recently, the Linux devmapper (used by LVM.....) would completely ignore write barrier requests.

                    OS we are using are Windows 2003 and Windows 2008

                    Kernel version: 2.6.18-128.2.1.4.37.el5xen


                    On oracle vm server console continuously receive below error

                    Buffer I/O error on device dm-3, Logical bock 24414032
                    printk: 100 messages suppressed

                      You should be OK on the server side, although I don't have the same experience with Windows in this situation as I do with Linux. What kind of storage are you using? As Avi Miller posted earlier, the storage itself may be ignoring write barriers.

                      Are all the errors on the same block?

                        The storage we are using is ISCSI SAN...although its working fine past 3 months , but this error came last 4 days don't know why...

                        block which i had created was dm-0 no error in this block , when i run cat/proc/partions below output occur
