Page size and compression in Apex application ?

We have Apex 4.1 installed on Oracle 11gR2( Solaris Operating system).

We have several applications developed in Apex 4.1

1) Is there a tool or utility which can tell us what the size of the Apex page when it gets loaded on our web ?

2) Did any experts here face any Apex performance issue and they had to use some page compression tool to load it
faster ?

Thanks
John

The web developer tools included in browsers like Safari, Chrome, Firefox+Firebug cover this.

YSlow is a Firefox+Firebug add-on for troubleshooting all aspects of performance.
