I working with one company, my company has LINE PRINTER CIMA 6120, currently this printer is configured on "SCO open server 5.0.5", company want to configure this printer to m4000 server, it has solaris 10 operating system.
I have checked the rpm's at the following site http://www.globalis.com/line.htm I could not found it.
Do I have to raise an SR for RPM'S for LINE PRINTER CIMA 6120, I did not found any RPM's in metalink also.
Please your help is required.
RPM file format is not support on Solaris. This is for Linux.
I don't think that the printer is listed in Solaris 10, but you can still use a different printer model that use the same emulation supported by the CIMA 6120.
Here is a list of supported emulation for this printer :
ANSI, IBM Proprinter III XL, Epson FX-1180, Printronix® P600 & P 5000/6000, DEC® LG01, HP 2564C, Tally line/dot matrix printer, Epson FX 1180, MTPL, contextual arabic, Twinax (IBM 4234/4210/5225)/Coax(IBM4234), HP LineJet HPLP Series, HP 256X
Shall I use printmgr to configure this printer in solaris 10, for m4000 and m3000 server how to set the emulation settings?
sir, how to configure printer settings in linux ?
Please your help is required
In printmgr, you have just to select the right value in this scrolling list in this order :
1 - Printer Make => select IBM, Epson, DEC, HP, Tally, or Generic
2 - Printer Model
3 - PrinterDriver
Sorry i cannot be more specific but we don't have all printer models to test if this works or not. I can only suggest you to test if a combination works or to ask the manufacturer which settings should be used with this printer model.
For Linux, you must resend your question in the Linux forum. Here in this forum, we support only Solaris.
