    Is CacheConnect 7.0.5 compatible with Oracle 11g?

      I'm wondering, is CacheConnect 7.0.x compatible with Oracle 11g?

      It is not clear from the documentation:

      cacheconnect.pdf:
      ===========
      The following
      Oracle client and server releases are supported by Cache Connect:
      • Oracle 10g Release 2 (Oracle 10.2.0.1.0 or above)
      • Oracle 10g Release 1 (Oracle 10.1.0.5.0 or above)
      • Oracle 9i Release 2 (Oracle 9.2.0.8.0 or above)

      docaddendum.pdf
      ===========
      TimesTen Cache Connect to Oracle allows you to cache Oracle Database data in
      TimesTen. The following Oracle client and server releases are supported with
      this option for TimesTen 7.0.4:
      • Oracle Database 9i Release 2 (Oracle 9.2.0.8.0 or above)
      • Oracle Database 10g Release 1 (Oracle 10.1.0.5.0 or above)
      • Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (Oracle 10.2.0.1.0 or above)
      • Oracle Database 11g Release 1 on these platforms:
      – Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
      – Linux (32-bit and 64-bit)

          the docaddendum.pdf is relevant for 7.0 releases from 7.0.4.0.0 onwards. The Release Notes for 7.0.4.0.0 state the following:

          Oracle Release 11gR1 is supported with TimesTen Cache Connect to Oracle on Linux x86 32-bit and 64-bit platforms, and on Windows 32-b

          The main documentation such as the cacheconnect.pdf tends to only be updated at major releases, so for specific information like this I would take the Release Notes as the latest, accurate information. 7.0.4.0.0 had the addendum doc as there were a number of major new features introduced at this point, which really needed their own source of documentation rather than just being included with a brief description in the Release Notes.

            So what is the answer?
            Yes, CacheConnect 7.0.5 is compatible with Oracle 11g, isn't it?

              Yes, 7.0.4.0.0 and greater is compatible with Oracle 11g.

              Please note that the Standard Support Expiration Date for 7.0.x is 01 March 2012 so I'd recommend if you're making big decisions about what versions of TimesTen and Oracle to use, you would be better considering TimesTen 11.2.1 or the recently released TimesTen 11.2.2.
