    AutoCreate Issue

    Mahendra
      HI,

      I have created one Requisition...with 2 lines..with same item..one line has a quantity of 2 and the other 3..
when i create PO using auto create..I see that the PO is getting created with one line with 5 quantities..

Even though profile PO: Default Requisition Grouping is set to requisition..
same case if i set that to default
going by the book it should create 2 lines right..if we set the above option??

what should be done..if i want to see 2 lines in PO as well

      Help would be appreciated

      Thanks
      Mahendra

          Hi Mahendra,
          What is your application version?
Is the issue for inventory item or a expense item?
what is your patchset information ( as per Procurement Family Patch Release History (Doc ID 222339.1))

I have seen this happen when the two lines have the same description. Oracle thinks it is a mistake and that you meant to have one line so it combines them and puts the lower price. This happens to us all the time. We are on 11.5.10.2 though.

Also i have observed..say i have one req...with 2 lines with same item..

one with 2 quantities with price 100..
one with 2 quantities with price 50..i.e i override the price to 50..
so total price of req came to 300..which is ok until now..

                I then auto created it..and strangely i see..PO with 1 Line..with 4 quantities with total price adjusted to 200...
It converted to the least price..

                Any thoughts?

Yep - that is the same thing I have experienced. Unfortunately I don't have a solution. I just cancel the PO and make the user re-enter it with a slightly different item description.

If you find anything out, please let me know-

Have you tried setting PO: Use Requisition Line Numbers on Autocreated Purchase Order Lines to Yes?

                    Hope this helps,

Yes sandeep..it was set to yes at site level..
if possible can you try in your instance...if it is a bug..then maybe i should log a SR

                        Rob,

As a workaround..if you want to create 2 lines with same item to be created on the PO..this is what i did..
When you select the lines from auto create window..select the grouping by requisition not default..
i think it will create 2 lines in the PO.

As am on R12..i did make changes to some purchasing options to explore other possibilities..
I went to Document defaults..and in there..I have changed requisition import group by to location...which was set to item earlier..so after making the above said changes..i created a requisition with same item and the receiving location different..because i have set that to group by location...so my PO got created with 2 Lines

That did the trick - thank you! I went ahead and set the form to default to that as an option.

                            Rob,

can you detail the steps which you followed to change the grouping to default by requisition..
every time i go to auto create and change the grouping to requisition from default..

do we need to change anything at form level?

I went to Tools: Personalize: Custom Code while in the Autocreate form.

Description: Grouping default value with the level Form
                              Trigger Event: WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE
Processing Mode: Not in Enter-Query Mode

                              Condition Tab:
Context Level: User - Value: each username that uses the form

                              Actions Tab:
                              Seq 10
                              Title: Property

                                Hi Mahendra,

By doing so, if you will have same location for both lines, default group by location will not work.

exactly..but in first place if you are raising for same location and same item...why would you need 2 lines?? I was just taking the example of the location..here..there are others to choose from..like buyer..vendor..but i have noticed that this will work only if the grouping is done with requisition..

I guess..if you want to create 2 lines for same item...irrespective of grouping done by item..buyer..category..vendor....just give a try by selecting ALL...in requisition import group by...i guess it should work..

Exactly right. we have defined ALL...in requisition import group by so that we can receive in PO with same number of lines mentioned in Requisition.
you can also control groupping by using Autocreate workflow if you want to use that functionality in your system.
