    RMAN-00600: internal error during backup

    AJ
      RAC rdbms version 11.2.0.2.5 RHEL 5.6

      I have configured a RMAN recovery catalog using virtual private catalog to difference between some environements.

      The backups are run by various scripts stored in the recovery catalog as follows.

      e.g:
      RMAN> print global script level_1_backup;

      printing stored global script: level_1_backup
      {set command id to 'level_1_backup'; backup incremental level 1 database format '/backups/&1/rman/%d_LVL1_%U_%T' plus archivelog format '/backups/&1/rman/%d_LVL1_arch_%U_%T' delete input; }
      This has been working just fine for a longer period of time, but the other day the backup started failing with:

      RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
      RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
      RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
      RMAN-00601: fatal error in recovery manager
      RMAN-03012: fatal error during compilation of command
      RMAN-03028: fatal error code for command backup plus archivelog : 600
      RMAN-00600: internal error, arguments [8714] [] [] [] []
      If i run backup without connection to the Recovery catalog there are no problems.
      Also, the problem resolves itself by explictly issuing a "resync catalog;" command, but after a couple of days the problem is back.

      Has anyone experinced something like this?

      Thank you.
