You can find the recommended course here http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=41&p_org_id=&lang=&p_exam_id=1Z0_591. However, this is only available to partners. If you are not a member of a partner organization, I suggest you search the OU website for OBIEE 11g training and compare the exam topics to the course topics. This will be the best way for you to choose training that may be helpful for you to prepare for the exam.

Hi everyone, it looks like 1Z0-591 exam has become a production exam, and Oracle has published the official passing score for it. I've registered to take the exam this November.

Does anyone know, against which version of OBIEE has this exam been validated?

          Thanks!

Beyond 11g, there is really no info on this. Does that help, or do you need further info on this?

Hi Brandye, thanks for the reply.

But yes, I think I need further info on this. Knowing the version in which the exam has been validated against is important, as there are many differences between the versions of 11g (i.e. 11.1.1.30 vs 11.1.1.5.0 vs 11.1.1.6.0 vs 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 vs etc). It can determine which documentations must be read, and it could be a difference between passing and failing the test.

so can anyone take this exam now that it is production? also what is an oracle testing id?

Yes, anyone can take this exam now that it is in production. An Oracle Testing ID is an ID that is assigned to every candidate when they create a Pearson VUE web account. This becomes your unique identifier for the Oracle Certification Program. All of your exam and certification history will be cataloged under this ID.

Just a note to the poster above 924701 - I am still waiting for the 11g release information for exam 591 that you have requested. I have followed up with the concerned parties. Sorry this info is taking so long to retrieve.

                    It was developed with 11.1.1.5.0.

                    I hope this helps.

The details are available at the Oracle Certiifcation Website: (eg it will say all questions carry equal weight):
                          http://certification.oracle.com

And Brandye's post of about 30th august links to the page of the exam which covers most of the questions you have asked here ... and the rest of the thread covers a little as well.

                            Hello !

For a Non-OPN Member candidate, like me, can I take the 1z0-591 Exam and get certified as "Oracle Business Intelligence Foundation Suite 11 Certified Implementation Specialist " ?

Only, OPN Members get a Pearson VUE accounts . So for an 'outsider' like me, what procedure should I follow to register for exam and make sure I get the results in an accurate & timely manner.

                            Thanks,

                                Hi ,
Thanks for your response. I checked Kaplan And Transcender both of them do not have Exam Prep material for 1z0-591 .

Can I trust **********.com ? Is there material valid/ acknowledged by Oracle ?

                                Thanks,

No. They are a dump provider. Please edit your post to obscure the name. You can check a provider by going to www.certguard.com and putting the name in the "Domain or URL:" text box and clicking 'Search'. They have a database of which are considered to be safe vs dump proividers.

The only providers Oracle recommends are Transcender and Self Test Software (both owned by Kaplan). I know that Ucertify is not a dump provider, but I have also heard mixed reviews regarding the quality of their product.
