Hi Yoav,1 person found this helpful
I would like to know if someone have a practical experience with CDC (Change Data Capture) OTHER than Golden Gate with exadataYes I have some experience with Shareplex on Exadata.
We have random stability, corruption and performance issues on the Shareplex side which we run in dbfs on Exadata.
Hope this answers your question.
Can you please tell me the downside of not having any subscriber for CDC ?.
Let me know if you have any references for this to share ?.
There is some information available:
Actually i am looking for list of CDC products (such as golden gate) that are Certified to work with Exadata.
For instance on wikipedia you can find a list of CDC products (not specific to Oracle).
Several off-the-shelf products perform change data capture using database transaction log files. These include:
Centerprise Data Integrator from Astera
DatabaseSync from WisdomForce
GoldenGate Transactional Data Integration
HVR from HVR Software
DBMoto from HiT Software
Shadowbase from Gravic
IBM InfoSphere Change Data Capture (previously DataMirror Transformation Server)
Informatica PowerExchange CDC Option (previously Striva)
Oracle Data Guard
Replicate1 from Vision Solutions
SharePlex from Quest Software
FlexCDC, part of Flexviews for MySQL
You have to scan the vendors websites 1 by 1 if they would certify for use on Exadata though.
Thanks for the references. But it doesnot say anything about the downside of not having a subscriber in CDC right?.Or did I miss it?.
Please help me on this.
it doesnot say anything about the downside of not having a subscriber in CDCCan you explain the question?
What does a subscriber do?
In Shareplex you have for instance a capture and a post process but I don not know a subscriber.....
Even without this subscriber it works (well most of the time) so I do not see a downside yet.
