    Where to ask questions

If you can't ask questions about[url https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2362600&tstart=0] configuring X servers for Opatch in Database General, where can you ask them?

In that case, Exceed forum, or Opentext customer support perhaps?

I guess X servers, terminal emulators, vpn access, etc. etc. etc. needs to be considered "external" stuff, that may be part of your operating system (e.g. use Windows support or forums) or 3rd party apps (e.g. use vendor support or forums).

I can't help but think if they are a prerequisite for Oracle, there ought to be a forum here.

Well, unfortunately the "Sysadmin (not Database!)" groups are dead, so people don't have any
other option - maybe consolidate the 20 groups (with approx. 2,500 odd posts between them) that
are under that rubrique under database.3rd party (even if it is Solaris/MySQL whatever...)?

If someone asks "Opinions on using Tool X with Oracle - any issues?" - at the moment, that's on-topic in
database.general as far as I'm concerned. If a 3rd party group with reasonable traffic is created,
then the OP can be pointed there?

If someone asks "I want to use Tool X to manage a PostgreSQL database on OpenBSD" - off-topic (for
any Oracle forum), but you get the idea.
