I am trying to install Oracle CCG on Windows 2008. I already have my PeopleSoft system installed on the same box, running weblogic and jdk1.7.0_03.
After setting the required environment variables, when I run the command "install.bat -f ccg-551-install.apf" from ccg_install folder, I get the following error:

I have tried downloading xerces.jar file and placed in the CLASSPATH folder but it did not help either. I do not have much knowledge about java and need help from someone who has installed CCG on windows.
Thank you in advance
Several things I would recommend here:
1. Use JDK 1.5 instead of 1.7, I'm pretty sure 1.7 isn't supported (Don't ask why) - [http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javasebusiness/downloads/java-archive-downloads-javase5-419410.html|http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javasebusiness/downloads/java-archive-downloads-javase5-419410.html]
2. Make sure to exit out all DOS command windows, then open a new one then go through setting all the environment variables, and using the same DOS command run the install command, otherwise all environment variables will be lost.
I hope that helps.
Thank you Yasir. I had jdk1.7 because PeopleSoft needed that version. I installed a new OS with jdk1.5 on it and am still getting the same error. I made sure that there are no other cmd windows open and set all the parameters as listed in the doc. It keeps saying "could not load default SAX parser".
I was able to get the installer running by putting the xerces.jar file in the <JAVA_HOME\lib\ext folder. Now I ran into another issue. During installation, it asks for UTL_FILE_DIR. Per documentation it should be any folder that oracle can write to. However, it says 'enter a valid UTL_FILE_DIR directory' no matter what directory I point it to. When I look up the parameter value in the database (show parameter UTL_FILE_DIR), it is not set to anything. From what I have seen this parameter is a legacy parameter and really used in Oracle 10g and above. Any thought?
Have a look at http://www.adp-gmbh.ch/ora/misc/init_params.html you can update teh UTL_FILE_DIR either in the init.ora or by running the alter sql command it provides. Create a folder such as 'tmp' and point UTL_FILE_DIR there.
Yes, I did not realize that I had to re-start Oracle instance after I set the UTL_FILE_DIR parameter. Just re-starting the installation process did not pick up the new value. Once I re-started the Oracle instance the installation went through. I still have an issue in the configuring the application after creation of the ccg.war file. I will open a new thread for that. Thank you for your help.
Also just a note, make sure the UTL_FILE_DIR is a directory that is not emptied. So if you empty out /tmp often, it may make more sense to put in another directory that will not empty out. The CCG installer copies files there that it will refer throughout the life of the product. If those files are removed, it will cause errors in the functionality of the product.
I hope that helps!
