That is a hardware-centric forum for discussions on specific hardware storage products and their usage/admiinistration.
OSB seems to be more associated with the company's database applications:
so this is being moved to the Secure Backup forum, hopefully for closer topic alignment.
We are using AIX server and we are trying to run Oracle Secure Backup on SAS interface on an IBM Autoloader Model TS-2900.. Did you already try to used SAS as an interface to run OSB on IBM autoloader model?
Does IBM AIX 6.1 already support Serial Attached SCSI ( SAS ) connectivity? Other said that it was. And since that Oracle Secure Backup only needs some SCSI parameters.. So it is possible that Oracle Secure Backup can run on SAS connectivity on an IBM autoloader model TS2900?
SAS connectivity is not supported with AIX media servers. You are correct on one hand that it is SCSI commands which with other platforms has just seemed to work. That is not the case with AIX and I've seen scenarios when it hasn't.
