The -s suppresses banner messages and version info but I am still getting this as the output:i think your script is working fine as these are SGA allocation message.
try to remove -s and see difference
I am looking to suppress the messages that popup when statring up and shutting down. I have added the -s to script so it looks like this from a shell script:Try
sqlplus -s /nolog << EXIT
set echo off
connect / as sysdba
sqlplus -s /nolog 1>/dev/null << EXIT connect / as sysdba startup exit EXIT
That did the trick. The other messages are informational but they are unwanted for task I am needing to perform. If there is an issue we have a "monitoring" service that will catch it.
