    View in AutoVue document error in UCM (WCC)

    921338
      Hi, I have configured Oracle AutoVue for UCM but when i login into UCM and clicks on "View in AutVue" option, following error occurred:

      Initialization failed. Exception when trying to execute channel requests; nested exception is:
      java.io.FileeeeNotFoundException: http://ots:16200/vuelink/VueServlet
      An error occured while connection to server.
      Restart the applets?

      Sometimes blank screen is shown but nothing to display.

      Please suggest me useful solution.

          That usually is the result of an improperly deployed servlet (in general, not exclusive to AutoVue)
          please verify that
          1. the hostname used is actually resolved properly (FQDN is not used, so the IP obtained or not is dependent on the machine and network setup ie under VPN that would not work)
          2. the path used is actually visible (the servlet is actually deployed on the app server at that location)
          3. the configuration on the servlet actually points to the AutoVue server
          4. the AutoVue server is actually running

          Since there are no logs, not easy to say what is actually improperly configured but I would pick the VueServlet URL as not been the correct one
          Would suggest to use a browser a ping that URL
          Also, please read the documentation on how to deploy the UCM VueLink and AutoVue there are useful troubleshooting steps

            Thanks Ricardo.May be the Servlet is not deployed correctly. but the All the files are working well such as,
            http://localhost:5098/servlet/VueServlet
            AutoVue Server
            Jetty Server
            Jvue.bat
            but, when i configure the settings for the client, the URLs are not opened and jVue works. Following are the links which do not open:

            http://localhost:8080/jVue
            http://localhost/jVue/jvue.html
            While, I have already created a war file using jar utility which deployed in Weblogic server and Administration server.

            I have studied documentation. What do you think, which files i have to configure to communicate to AutoVue and UCM?
            I wil be thankful for your further response.

              The info you give is not the same you use, so you probably need to verify how you deployed
              on the first entry you talk about
              http://ots:16200/vuelink/VueServlet
              then test
              http://localhost:5098/servlet/VueServlet
              which does not match above and is probably not even related to the issue
              (localhost is probably not the best way to test something either)

              So basically you are testing the demo site (which is properly deployed) but fail to actually test your own deployment

              Most certainly you need to redo your installation step by step with proper hostnames and port numbers
              I would recommend you draw yourself a deployment diagram with all the info in it
              and use it while deploying UCM VueLink
              As far as I can tell, it seems very likely the VueServlet is not deployed in the context you are pointing AutoVue client

              Again, without logs, and a proper description of how you deployed the different pieces, it will be close to impossible to infer a solution

              Then the next steps you must follow are
              1. Deploy the VueServlet and enable logging. Note and forward the context it is deployed (see Install Config Guide.pdf page 87)
              2. Deploy the VueLink and enable logs. Note and forward the context and the logs (see VueLink documentation ORAVLE UCM Admin guide page 16)
              3. Deploy he AutoVue client and enable Verbosity (see AutoVue Install config guide, look for VERBOSE paramater)
              4. Test again, send AutoVue client logs (JAVA console), VueServlet logs, server logs and vuelink logs

              Also, review issues in the KB
              Specially
              AutoVue Vuelink.war Causes Error when Deployed on Linux: java.io.FileNotFoundException, refer to Note 889230.1.

                Thanks Ricardo for your constant reply. probably you were right. now i am installing and configuring again AutoVue for UCM step by step. But this time all is going well but when i open to verify this link as given in guide, http://hostname:16200/vuelink/Vueservlet, the following error is occurred:

                Restarts the applets?

                I will be wait for your further reply.

                  That is an SSL handshake error, you probably configured AutoVue server to use SSL (default in the instaler) but did not use or did not import
                  the AV server certificate into the servlet container, so the handshake can not take place.
                  If the cer was added, and it still fails, then the problem is the certificate itself
                  Pay attention to the hostname on the certiificate, it must match the hostname used for communications
                  ie if the cert hostname is avserver.mycompany.com (no aliases defined)
                  and try to access it through avserver (ie define JVUESERVER param in servlet config file to just use avserver)
                  then you may get a cert validationerror similar to the one you have
                  I woudl strongly recommend you always use FQDN everywhere to avoid confusion or extra steps
                  Also, you need to always import self signed certificates, or a certificate whose trust (CA) chain is not known to the JRE you are using

                  Take a look at the AV server log, from the stack trace you submit, it is very possible the server terminated the connection
                  because it could not recognize/validate/use a certificate to use for the communication with the servlet (handshake error)

                    Thanks Ricardo for feedback.
                    Ricardo, we want to configure it non-ssl. so what we have to do next?

                      Normally that is taken care at install time
                      please take a look at the documentation
                      Oracle AutoVue install guide (page 16 and p 75)
                      Basically, need to disable it on the serverlet and on the server
                      two properties to modify
                      servlet
                      <init-param>
                      <param-name>EnableSSL</param-name>
                      <param-value>FALSE</param-value>
                      </init-param>

                      jvueserver properties

                      jvueserver.ssl.enable=TRUE
                      Specify whether to enable/disable secure socket (SSL) connections for
                      the server. This property is required when SSL connection is enabled
                      for the VueServlet.
                      Set to FALSE to disable SSL connections for the server.
                      Set to TRUE to enable SSL connections for the server.

                        O.k. thanks Ricardo.
                        I did not enable SSL port. When i open jvueservlet.properties, there is no SSL enable property to be seen. I have to edit this file and manually write the following code like this:

                        <init-param>
                        <param-name>EnableSSL</param-name>
                        <param-value>FALSE</param-value>
                        </init-param>

                        I will be waiting for your further response. Thanks.

                          Thanks. Ricardo. I have solved this isssue. Bundle of thanks for providing useful feedback.
                          But, now when i mark up a file, what is the location where markups are saved?
