An XA driver is a JDBC driver that coordinates transactions between distributed data sources enabling the commit (or rollback) atomic across the data sources. The FakeXADriver is a stand-in for a distributed XA driver and doesn't actually coordinate the transactions across distributed data sources. It can be used for development but anywhere you truly need to coordinate distributed transactions a true XA driver should be used in its place.
