Hi,

I am trying to install R12.1.1 on Linux installed in vmware. My problem is similar to the one mentioned in the thread..

R12 Rapidwiz postinstall step Http, Login page, Virtual dirve

I have checked the hosts file as per the suggestion in the above thread and it is currently as below

127.0.0.1 ebs localhost.localdomain
192.168.1.11 ebs.oraapp.com ebs

If I change the first line to localhost.localdomain localhost the services start fine but when I retry I get the message saying no installs found (RW-2004). Please help.

More info on versions
VMWare Player 4
Oracle Linux 6.2 32 bit
R12.1.1 and applied patch to update the rapidwizversion to 12.1.1.13

What is the complete error message? Please start all the application services and click on the retry button.

Thanks.. I did the following change

Verify that the /etc/sysconfig/network file is formatted as follows:

    HOSTNAME=[node_name].[domain_name]

and now I am not getitng the "No installs found error". Instead when I run adstrtal.sh, I am getting Database connection could not be established message. Do I need to change something after doing the above change.

Please make sure you have the database and the database listener up and running, then run AutoConfig on the application tier node and make sure you get no errors.

    Thanks,

To verify that the database and the database listener are up and running, you can simply connect to the database remotely from your machine.

To run AutoConfig, please see (Using AutoConfig to Manage System Configurations in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 [ID 387859.1]).

I just ran ./lsnrctl status and it gave the following message

    Connecting to (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=)(PORT=1521))
    TNS-12541: TNS: no listener
    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
    TNS-00511: No listener
    Linux Error: 111: Conection refused

Seems like HOST is blank. Do I need to correct come file? Or do you suggest doing a clean install again?

Please post the contents of the hosts file here.

Let us verify the above first before deciding whether to go with a fresh installation or not.

You have just posted the contents of the application listener.ora file. What we are looking for is the database listener (under 11.1.0.7 $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/<CONTEXT_NAME> directory).

    Thanks,

I see only "Samples" directory in the path in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin and here is the contents of listener.ora in that folder.. All commented out..

(Here is the $ORACLE_HOME path /home/oracle/ebs/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/network/admin)

If the <CONTEXT_NAME> directory is missing then this indicates that the directory/files were not created by Rapid Install and you need to do the installation all over again.

    Thanks,

OK. I will do that. Can you please clarify/confirm these

Should I delete all the folders in /home/oracle/ebs where I installed Oracle?
Anything else I need to take care before I start fresh install?

Thanks a lot for your assistance and help in this regards.
