Newbie: how to configure a Solaris 9 server as NTP server?

    scampsd
      Good afternoon,
I would like to convert a Solaris 9 machine (V440) into a NTP server. (I would like this machine to be central NTP server in my lab)
The problem is that when I search this on the internet, I only get information on how to refer to an existing NTP server.

Does somebody know what I need to do? (Or have a reference to a user guide, explaining this)
      Thanks
      Dominique

          Hi.

          See:

          http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19683-01/806-4076/6jd6amqpq/index.html
          http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19683-01/806-4076/6jd6amqpl/index.html

Ntp server can syncronize own clock with previos NTP server ( stratum=stratum of previos server + 1) or
have own source of time ( stratum=1).

Ntp daemon support many device as source of time ( see /etc/inet/ntp.server.conf)

In case you want use local time as source of time, use next ntp.conf:

          server 127.127.1.0

But realy it's bad source of time.

          Regards.
