Oracle 11g on NetApp SAN using ASM on Linux
Apr 24, 2012 12:27 AM
is anyone running Oracle 10g or better yet Oracle 11g (R1 or R2) on 64-bit X64 Linux (Red Hat or Oracle Linux ideal) on Oracle ASM on top of NetApp SAN (*not* the NFS but rather NetApp Data ONTAP)?
can you share your general experiences - reliability? performance? good/bad/ugly? tips?
They use RAID-DP which is like RAID-6 as best I can understand and I do have some I/O performance concerns, particularly for writes (database, redo log, archivelog, flashback).....
Also anyone using SnapManager For Oracle (SMO) NetApp users out there? What do you think?
