I have 2 attributes (say, State & Capital) as LOV's in my TRVO. Based on the first attribute selected in this case State, I need my second attribute to refresh and show its Capital.
I set up a cascading LOV based on the first attribute's value. I rendered these two attributes as af:selectOneChoice (note: I've unselected the Include "No Selection" item in my choiceList options on that attribute).
The values gets refreshed, as I select the first value from the dropdown (say I select Wisconsin as my state), the second dropdown displays a "No Selection item" and my Capital (Madison) as well.
Question is : How can I NOT show the No Selection item in my second dropdown and directly display the Capital alone??
Please help. Thanks !
you wont have control over this. If there were two dependent list entries then it would be the first to be applied when you select a new parent. In general you should be able to de-select the seond "So Selection Item" string as the first, so you may want to verify that. If you need to control over what is set as a default value to the dependent field then you need to set the value as the default value of the attribute I guess
Thanks for your response Frank, but
"In general you should be able to de-select the seond "So Selection Item" string as the first, so you may want to verify that" - I dont get what you mean by de-select? What if I render my component as a disabled one? Then in this case, I would nto be able to select/de-select the value in the dropdown and always the "No Selection" string gains precendence and my actual value never gets displayed.
