OEL 6.2 PV with UEK error: "xen.independent_wallclock" is an unknown key
May 7, 2012 4:31 AM
I've tried to setup independent clock in paravirtualized OEL 6.2 with UEK to handle time sync inssues.
But setting up xen.independent_wallclock in sysctl.conf and applying with sysctl -p throws error: "xen.independent_wallclock" is an unknown key.
Also file /proc/sys/xen/independent_wallclock is not present.
UEK version is 2.6.32-300.21.1.el6uek.x86_64.
We are preparing for RAC on Oracle VM, but currently I haven't found any documentation how to setup independent clock on OEL 6 with UEK paravirtualized on Oracle VM for RAC.
Is there any solution for this issue?

in response to
after googling for a while ....
UEK is pvops kernel and pvops kernel has always independent clock (someone pointed in xendev list), this implies you must run ntpd to be synchronized.
Seems to be working.
