    Planning webform ISSUE

    Scorp
      Hi,

I am facing an issue with the webform regarding the access in it using smartview plug-in for MS-Excel.

      The issue is :
When we connect to the webform server in the connections manager in Excel and then select the webform which we created, the webform opens in MS-Excel with the created dimensions .The thing is we are not able to submit data at the zero level it says "cell is read-only,make it readable",but when i login with the admin id i am able to enter the data at the leaf level.
      Please help!

Did you try with the same id (which you have issue in excel) in Planning web? Are you able to enter data in planning web? If not, then you might have to look in your security provisioning for that non-admin id.

          Thanks,
          Siva

yes, we are not able to enter the data in planning web also.

Also can you please suggest what are the provisions we should have to give to the user to make the webform in writable format for them except giving admin access?

Yes, you should give the user the below access... pls test with some native id before you

              1) Give the user "Planner" (for data submission) and "Ad-hoc User" (for adhoc analysis in smarview) in Shared Services. For reporting access, appropriate roles are required. pls refer EPM System Roles in the link "http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hss_admin/frameset.htm?cas_help.htm"

              2) If you have secured your planning dimensions, you have give "WRITE" access for the TOP member in all the secured dimensions. You can further restrict thier access to the levels as per your buss requirement.

If you do the above, for sure you shoudl be able to submit data in data form.

                Hi,

                Thanks for the previous post.
                I need one more clarification
If we need to restrict the user in accessing particular scenario say"Is it possible that if the user selects JAN in drop-down menu while accessing the web-form thro' smart view he should have 5 Fiscal weeks and for FEB- 4 fiscal Weeks and for MAR- 3 fiscal Weeks and so on based on the business requirements ????

The form is basically developed in a general manner containing 5 weeks for every month. Please elaborate on restricting the user in entering data or the visibility to him in Excel while entering data, can it be done thro' the filters or what?

                Please help!

You can enter data via planning web if the:
                  1. Complete intersection is level 0,
                  2. User have the write access to all the members of that intersection,
                  3. Data form is not read only,
                  4. Scenario is open for data entry ... many more

Now If you want to restrict a user for accessing a particular scenario

                  Simple answer will be No.

Don't give the write access to the member for which you don't want a user to enter data.

For more information on security have a look at:

                    Hi,

After i edit or change a filter for a user in ESSbase then after that I'm not able to refresh the filter from shared services as it showing "Failed to sync (user id) to shared services error" hence the change in filter is not working in a webform.

                    Please help!

have you changed member access directly in Essbase and not in Planning? If it's true just try give access in planning and then sync filters with essbase

                        Hi,

What is option to sync filters created in ESSBASE to sync with Planning application?

                        Thanks

I think the previous post was stating that you should try and adjust the security in Shared Services and apply to dimensions as required within Workspace; an Application refresh through Workspace (Administration/Application/Refresh DB) including security filters should then pass this through to Essbase...

(Ensure to backup before making the changes / refreshing the App).

                            Also
Is it possible to display a symbol such as hyphen for a member in a webform in a default state while opening in Excel rather than displaying #missing??

                              Hello,
just wondering - is the application enabled for all users or just administrators ?
default setting is just admins. Can be changed under the application settings.

                              Regards,
                              Philip

                                Hi
We have a webform consisting of weeks where data entry is allowed on particular week ,We locked weeks using scenarios by start perion and end period.
and when we open the webforms in excel thro smartview, those cells that were hidden appear to be read only, but when query them in an ad-hoc manner using essbase , i can enter data into the locked cells ,means if i refresh the sheet it shows the submitted data.

                                Please help
