Perhaps you need to append a ".txt" extension yourself? If you didn't type that into the chooser I doubt it will add that by itself.
And what if I have to choose from 50+ extensions? Append all this by hands?
Perhaps you should try to ask your question more clear.
I've run your code. I've selected a text file (the "Save as type" field was set to *.txt as expected). It nicely asked me if I wanted to overwrite the file. I clicked yes. The file returned was "something.txt".
It works as expected.
What exactly is the problem again?
Ok i've just tested it and i think it's a bug, cause on my Mac it works fine and returns .txt, but on Win8 - 64 bit, returns without extension

Ok... I'm not a Mac user, but doesn't the Mac filesystem not use file extensions but instead stores the type information in a 2nd data stream (the resource fork) ?
Maybe that's why the extension is not added automatically.
