stream required dblink.1 person found this helpful
goldengate doesn't required dblink but again licence come into picture.
so only option is expdp/impdp
but whats the reason of not using dblink.
Hi, thanks for the reply. The reason for the limitation is that data is being transferred between two organizations. Personally, I am inclined towards Datapump
Please let me know.
Depends on the requirement. Oracle streams and goldengate can give real time sync between source and destiantion table's data which export/import won't.

What about using change data capture? It's an option and pretty easy to configure. It uses streams as the underlying technology, you don't need to have DB links and it ships the archive logs then uses log miner. It's an option.
Here is a link regarding some other points to consider when [url http://www.ora00600.com/scripts/changedatacapture/db_links.html]using DB links with CDC
Can you please explain a bit more in detail about what you mean by shipping the archive logs; is it normal FTP of the archive logs or something else?
Archive can be trasnfer by Redo transport services.detail below
before looking into CDC.
have a look on below note
Planned De-support of Change Data Capture
If you manage to ship the logs, not in a data guard configuration, you need to think about how you are going to mine the data from them - Log Miner would work. That's all CDC is, streams and log miner.
Of course Oracle want you to use Golden Gate, it costs a fortune to license...They might not be enhacing the features for CDC but they are still supporting it, so you have at least 4-5 years left in it I would imagine.
