Ok, now, what happens? shall I wait for a new SQL Developer release or there's something else I can do to get the functionalities I mentioned working with my current SQL Developer?
The usual mechanism is to wait for the next full release (a download) or to use the Check for Updates feature for patch releases. Not sure which category the next release will fall into. You'll have to wait for some announcement, either at the top of the forum's first page, or via Facebook or Twitter.
I am still really deeply frustrated with SD.
I am using 3.2.20.09 and the problem I've reported is still there.
Since I am tired of waiting, can someone recommend me a Sql IDE that "works" with oracle db server, and I mean, "works" having auto completion etc.? I would gladly pay for such an application if it's work as I hope.
Can't reproduce in 3.2.20.09:
1. Start sqldeveloper
2. Open select.sql with
select * from emp
3. Choose a connection from the dropbox
4. "ctrl-space" at the cursor after "emp" brings up the list of all the expected tables.
Well, it's partially working, if your sql file is big (like mine), say with more than 1000 lines, then, maybe because of memory usage, the automatic completion won't work as expected, though, sometimes, after a while, crtl-space would stil work.
So, the problem may have been addressed, but I believe this feature can be definitely improved.
