We are trying to upgrade from EPM System version 220.127.116.11 to 18.104.22.168 by applying upgrade patches. We first uninstalled all of the Essbase clients and followed the instructions for the upgrades. We encountered an issue when trying to choose the installing type "Apply Maintenance Release" which is grayed out and was not an option. The only install type available to choose from was "New Installation" which is not part of the documentation instructions that we have from Oracle. Based from the blogs that we have read about online, this happened only when you're not using the same admin login userID but in our case we were using the same ID that was used for installation at the beginning (or else we wouldn't be able to uninstalled the clients at the beginning).
So can someone please let us know how we can enable the "Apply Maintenance Release" for this patch? Or is it something that we will have to do differently. Please help since we will need to proceed with this upgrade as soon as possible.
Have you anytime modified the .oracle.products file available in EPMSystem11R1 folder? As far as I know there might be some problem with .oracle.products file and my suggestion would be to get support involved so that they can verify the file for possible corruptions.
