    error about running HelloWorld

I am very new to OAF and try to run the HelloWorld first. I get this exceptions:oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: Application: ICX, Message Name: Could not find the specified responsibility.

According to a old post: Error while running helloworld example I need to goto Application Developer --> Responsibility --> Define and then define a responsibility. However I cannot find where Application Developer is. My jdeveloper version is 10.1.3.3.0.3. Could anyone tell me how to solve this?

          Please see these docs.

According to a old post: Error while running helloworld example I need to goto Application Developer --> Responsibility --> Define and then define a responsibility. However I cannot find where Application Developer is.
Login to System Administrator responsibility and navigate to Security > User > Define, query your username and add the "Application Developer" responsibility to the username.

You need to use the correct JDeveloper version.

My Oracle Support (MOS) website -- https://support.oracle.com

You need a valid username/password and CSI number to access those docs.

              Thanks,

Actually, you'll need to add the following responsibilities to your user:

                OA Framework ToolBox Tutorial
                OA Framework ToolBox Tutorial Labs

                Also, good to have:

                Application Developer
                System Administrator

Make sure when configuring JDeveloper that you use the same username / password which has the above responsibilities defined.

The best way I've found to implement "Hello World", as well as, developing custom OAF pages is to use the tutorial provided in the Help section of JDeveloper.
In the help search section type in: Search Exercise for how to create the Search page from scratch. Do the same for Create page exercise, Drilldown, Update, and Delete.

                Good Luck!

Yeah, I created the HelloWorld according to the help page. I think the problem is I do not assign the ToolBox Tutorial responsibilities to a test user. The doc gives the solution: To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:

                  1. From the responsibility: System Administrator.

                  2. Navigate to Security > User > Define.

                  3. Query up the applications user using 'Ctrl + F11'.

                  4. Assign responsibility OA Framework ToolBox Tutorial (responsibility key:'FWK_TBX_TUTORIAL' and 'FWK_TOOLBOX_TUTORIAL_LABS') to the user.

                  5. Save the changes and retest the issue.

My question here is how to do the first step? And I also do not find Security tabs in the jdeveloper menu or project properties. Where can I find this options and assgin respobsibility?

                    From Oracle E-Business Suite URL -- http://<hostname>.<domainname>:<port>/OA_HTML/AppsLogin

                    Thanks,

So if my host URL is host1.example.com, the URL should be http://host1.example.com:1605/OA_HTML/AppsLogin. But it reports no such page exists. Does it mean there is no OAF on this instance? What do I need to do for this scenario?

Are the values of the hostname/domainname/port correct?

If you have access to the database, please issue the following to get the exact URL:
                        SQL> conn apps/<apps password>

                        SQL> select home_url
                        from icx_parameters;
                        Thanks,

I can go to Security->User->Define page and try to define a new user with responsibility OA Framework ToolBox Tutorial and OA Framework ToolBox Tutorial Labs. But I cannot find these two options in the responsibility list. I am now under system administrator authority. Why does this situation happen?

It should be there (Search for "OA Framework ToolBox Tutorial%" and "OA Framework ToolBox Tutorial Labs%") -- Troubleshooting JDeveloper setup for Oracle Applications [ID 357218.1]

yes, I find these responsibilities: Framework ToolBox Tutorial, Framework ToolBox Tutorial Labs, Framework ToolBox Tutorials Labs(NEW), OA Framework ToolBox Tutorial and OA Framework ToolBox Tutorial Labs. My question is I created a new user and assign all these five responsibilities to the new user. But when I check the status of this new user, there is no responsibility assigned to this user. How does it happen? And it still reports this error when trying to run the HelloWorld.

This is expected when you create new user (no responsibilities will be assigned to the user by default).

If I cannot assign the responsibilities when creating the new user, where can I assign the responsibilities to the existing user?

From the same window, query the username (F11 then type the username then Ctrl+F11) then assign responsibilities.
