Number limit of Tuxedo client using WSH

There is a SHM mode Tuxedo server, error occurs with "CMDTUX_CAT:4745: ERROR: Exceeded 110% of TUXEDO System Binary Licensed User Count (36/5), BBL lockout occurs, no new clients can join the application" and "WSNAT_CAT:1356: ERROR: A lockout has occurred because of license violation" when Tuxedo client connects to the server.

From the documentation of BEA Tuxedo, it says that the connection number of Tuxedo client exceeds that of Tuxedo license.

I wanna know:
1. How can I find the connection number of Tuxedo client? Which command or file can be queried?
2. In the above error "TUXEDO System Binary Licensed User Count (36/5)", does it mean that there is only 5 connection number allowed, but 36 connections are trying?
3. The explanation of BEA Tuxedo is "The BBL lockout occurs in SHM mode because the system has determined that the total number of active users exceeded 110% of TUXEDO licensed users for a grace period of 24 hours.", does it only occur in SHM mode?
4. How can I see the current connection of Tuxedo client? If the clinet is here, but by "pclt -m machine_name" of tmadmin, its status is IDLE, does it have impact on this error?

Thanks a lot.

    Hi Bill,

    The error is indicating that you are licensed for 5 Tuxedo users, but 36 are currently connected. You can use the tmadmin command printclient to see what clients are connected to Tuxedo. This should occur regardless of model, i.e., SHM and MP. The maximum number is contained in your license file (udataobj/lic.txt).

    I used printclient -m machine_name in tmadmin and it printed that:

    LMID User Name Client Name Time Status Bgn/Cmmt/Abrt
    --------------- --------------- --------------- -------- ------- --------- ----
    dcs dcsope WSH 15:40:08 IDLE 0/0/0
    dcs dcsope JSH 15:39:37 IDLE 0/0/0
    dcs dcsope JSH 15:39:37 IDLE 0/0/0
    dcs dcsope WSH 15:37:39 IDLE 0/0/0
    dcs User.1@20001 teller 15:27:36 IDLE/W 0/0/0
    dcs User.0@20001 teller 15:27:36 IDLE/W 0/0/0
    dcs User.1@20001 teller 14:19:50 IDLE/W 0/0/0
    dcs User.1@20001 teller 11:43:11 IDLE/W 0/0/0
    dcs dcsope tmadmin 0:00:09 IDLE 0/0/0

    All its status is IDLE, but there is warning in ULOG:
    CMDTUX_CAT:4749: WARN: Reached 100% of TUXEDO System Binary Licensed User Count (5/5)

    Which ones is the 5 users from the result of pc command?
    What does it mean of "IDLE/W"?

    Thanks !

    In lic.txt, there is:

    [BEA TUXEDO]
    DEVELOPERS=5
    LICENSEE=...
    SERIAL=...
    TYPE=SDK
    USERS=5
    VERSION=9.1
    SIGNATURE=...

    [LINK ENCRYPTION]
    DEVELOPERS=5
    LICENSEE=...
    SERIAL=...
    STRENGTH=56
    TYPE=SDK
    USERS=5
    VERSION=9.1
    SIGNATURE=...

    [PK ENCRYPTION]
    DEVELOPERS=5
    LICENSEE=...
    SERIAL=...
    STRENGTH=56
    TYPE=SDK
    USERS=5
    VERSION=9.1
    SIGNATURE=...

    [PK SIGNATURE]
    DEVELOPERS=5
    LICENSEE=...
    SERIAL=...
    STRENGTH=56
    TYPE=SDK
    USERS=5
    VERSION=9.1
    SIGNATURE=...

    [SNMP]
    DEVELOPERS=5
    LICENSEE=...
    SERIAL=...
    TYPE=SDK
    USERS=5
    VERSION=9.1
    SIGNATURE=...

    [SSL ENCRYPTION]
    DEVELOPERS=5

    LICENSEE=Customer
    SERIAL=...
    TYPE=RTK
    USERS=1000000
    VERSION=9.1

    Almost in every section, there is "USERS=5" and "DEVELOPERS=5", does it mean that there is only 5 users allowed in every section or there is only 5 users allowed in all section? Thanks.

    Hi Bill,

    I believe IDLE means that the client isn't currently making any requests.

    Tuxedo counts a user once a client executes tpinit() and it stays as a client until it does a tpterm().

    In addition, the result of printclient:
    dcs User.1@20001 teller 15:27:36 IDLE/W 0/0/0

    1. What does the 'W' of "IDLE/W" mean?
    2. In lic.txt, in the following sections:
    [BEA TUXEDO]
    [LINK ENCRYPTION]
    [PK ENCRYPTION]
    [PK SIGNATURE]
    [SNMP]
    [SSL ENCRYPTION]
    There are DEVELOPERS=5 and USERS=5. Does it mean there is only 5 users allowed in every section or there is only 5 users allowed in all section? How can I find the meaning of each section, such as [LINK ENCRYPTION], [PK ENCRYPTION] and so forth?

    Thanks.

    Hi Bill,
    1. What does the 'W' of "IDLE/W" mean?
    It means the client is a workstation client.
    2. In lic.txt, in the following sections:
    [BEA TUXEDO]
    Defines the license parameters for Tuxedo as a whole. USERS=5 means a total of 5 users or clients are allowed.

    [>LINK ENCRYPTION]

    Defines whether link level encryption is licensed.

    [>PK ENCRYPTION]

    Defines whether PKI encryption is licensed.

    [>PK SIGNATURE]

    Defines whether PKI signing is licensed.

    [>SNMP]

    Defines whether the SNMP agent is licensed.

    [>SSL ENCRYPTION]

    Defines whether SSL encryption is licensed.

    I don't believe we track the number of users that are using the features in each of the subsections. As well I don't believe we still license many of those section separately, only the level of encryption offered. I hope this helps.
