Hi,

I'm trying to install R12 on oracle Linux 6.0 (installed in VMware) on external drive.

I'm getting two issues

1. Installation fails in Post installation check for JSP & Login Page .
2. Laptop hangs due to VMware session.

Below are my specification.

1. 3 GB is allocated to VMware memory (out of 4 GB of Laptop)
2. External hard disk size - 1 TB
3. VMware disk size - 300 GB

Please find the Log uploaded in below URL (Please click Download slow, it will wait for 25 sec and then again clilck download slow to get the files).

app_07032203.log (0.02MB)
http://www.filefactory.com/file/4uikz8rjsaur/n/app_07032203_log

db_07032203.log (0.09MB)
http://www.filefactory.com/file/icol7fq7flf/n/db_07032203_log

Since my laptop is not linked to any network hence I'm not sure how my /etc/hosts file should look like
My host entries are

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain

Please help me to install the R12

Thanks and Regards
Vijay

    1. Installation fails in Post installation check for JSP & Login Page .
    Please make sure you completed all the steps in the installation docs.

    2. Laptop hangs due to VMware session.

    2. External hard disk size - 1 TB
    3. VMware disk size - 300 GB
    You need at least 4 GB for R12 to be installed properly and have no performance issues, anything below 4 GB will cause performance issues with the installation and with the functionality of the application.

    The error you are getting is because of the missing entry in the hosts file. Using localhost is not recommended and you need to have a static IP Address and set a hostname/domainname -- Please see the installation docs referenced above and (R12 Rapidwiz Fails on Post Installation Tasks : RW-50016, Timed Out( 100000 ) [ID 437152.1]) for details.

    Thanks,

    Hi Hussein,

    I've increased the VMware memory to 4 GB.
    And now my hosts and network file looks like

    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
    ::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
    192.168.1.100 ledu.oracle.com ledu

    /etc/sysconfig/network

    NETWORKING=yes
    #HOSTNAME=localhost.localdomain
    HOSTNAME=ledu.oracle.com

    Still the installing failing in JSP and Login Page

    checking URL = http://ledu.oracle.com:8000/OA_HTML/jtfTestCookie.jsp
    JSP is not responding, waiting 15 seconds and retesting.

    checking URL = http://ledu.oracle.com:8000/OA_HTML/AppsLogin

    RW-50016: Error: - {0} was not created:
    File = {1}

    Hi Hussein,

    Thanks for your updated my HTTP was not Alive
    and by using adopmnctl.sh help me to up ALL services. On Retry it help me install Oracle R12. I was able to login application using sysadmin (only when I've successfully installed it).

    But now when I'm trying to UP database and application. The whole session is very very slow.
    I'm using below command to start db and app.

    addlnctl.sh start VIS
    adstpall.sh apps/apps

    I'm using 4 GB RAM (for VMware Linux 6.0).

    This is expected with 4 GB of RAM. You need to increase the memory on your machine as Oracle EBS database/apps need at least 4 GB and you need to least 2 GB for the OS.

    Hi Hussein,

    I've upgraded my RAM to 8GB and now I'm able to install the Oracle apps. Thanks for ur support.

    Now I'm facing other issues

    1. On every restart my /etc/hosts file changes .
    2. I'm not able to open the Forms in Linux using Firefox

    I'm using default Firefox that comes with Oracle Linux 6 and have installed jdk-6u7-linux-i586-rpm.bin
    But still not able to access forms.

    My host file looks like
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
    ##::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
    192.168.1.100 ledu.oracle.com ledu

    But If I restart my PC then the host changes to

    127.0.0.1 ledu.oracle.com ledu localhost.localdomain localhost
    ::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
    192.168.1.100 ledu.oracle.com ledu

    everytime I need to change the hosts file before starting my db and apps
