usually we are also registering the jde portlets under the webcenter spaces application by creating a new producer connection, but that is for webcenter spaces
but if we want to add it to our application we need to add to our application specific, that means we need to create a new producer for the new portal application from the em console
Hi you can see the following tutorial in which Oracle is explaining how to use JDE WSRP Portlet in custom portal domain:-
Unfortunately, I have tried the documentation, but it does not work for a couple of reasons. The creation of a PeopleSoft WSRP Producer within JDeveloper does not work because of a known bug on the PeopleSoft side.
I have created the WSRP Producer using EM successfully and it does test successfully. In addition, I am using all of the same properties as are being used in a Spaces implementation, but of an older version of WebCenter.
As for the page that I created, I just created a page within my JDeveloper Portal application and created a customizable section on the page that I could then add the portlets to at runtime. As I said though, the portlets are not listing within the Producer listing in the Resource Catalog and I cannot figure out why.
I am using the PeopleSoft WSRP producer, not JDE
For WebCenter Portal JDE and pple sft Portlets are same because of WSRP based communication,
Please let us know how you are adding registering a portlet to your application, if you add it to webcenter>applications>service configuration under WLS EM console, it will come to your webcenter poral application
you need to add it to webcenter portal application, like below steps
1) Go to your applciation in adminstration section
2) go to serives and Portlet producers and say register
3) there you need to your pple sft wsdl url and chage the time settings from 30 to 300 like
4) now you can able add the portlets to your page from resource catalog
let me know if this resolves your issue...
Unfortunately this did not help me. Within both EM as well as my WebCenter Portal application Administration, the Portlet Producer shows up and tests successfully. In addition, within the Administration area of the Portal application, not only does the producer show up, but it does show a list of portlets available to the producer, but these portlets don't show up in the resource catalog. I don't know what else I can do or why there is a problem.
I do not have any personal experience with the PSFT portlets, but did you (try to) add the portlets to the resource catalog?
To do so:
- Copy a resource catalog (the default catalogs cannot be edited)
- Edit the resource catalog
- Add a folder / portlets you want to include in the catalog
- Enable the catalog in your space
Then, when you edit a page, you can select the portlets from the resource catalog
Does it able to show the default portlets(Webclippling, omni)?
I have not tried that, but I definitely will.
I actually have not created a resource for the default WSRP Producer, but I do have a custom WSRP producer that I created which contains upwards of 15 portlets and all of them are showing just fine without me having to do anything other than create the WSRP Producer connection.
If we think little bit more, is it related to security issue between Portal and pple sft portlets, have you created the same user in both the places(portal application and pple sft)
We are not mapping users between the two environments. In the Spaces implementation, each portlet requires a user id and password before they will show anything, but that is only after the portlets are displayed on the page. I can't even get to that point.
