A blog post on SOA performance on Solaris 11 / SPARC T4 servers

In the link below is a short blog post on the testing my group performed on the SOA infrastructure running Fusion Order Demo on the SPARC T4 servers, running Solaris 11, with specific focus on BPEL and OSB performance. We have more numbers to share (under NDA) than what is shared in the attached paper, so if this is of interest to you, reach out to your Oracle contacts and they can get a hold of us and we will be happy to share more information.

Long story short, we recommend the SPARC T4 platform for all SOA use cases, as we were not able to find any place where the T4 processor did not do well in our testing. Performance, core to core was similar to modern x86 processors, and if you are running SOA on any older T-Series boxes (T3, T2+, T2) then these numbers will be especially interesting to you.
