    Oracle Linux Uninterruptible Power Supply

i want to know why OEL6.3 has no package like apcupsd or nut.

Does nobody protect his server against a power failure?

      Best Regards

          Catch 22
You can download it from the EPEL project (Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux).

          For instance:

          yum install http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/x86_64/apcupsd-3.14.10-1.el6.x86_64.rpm
          yum install http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/x86_64/apcupsd-cgi-3.14.10-1.el6.x86_64.rpm
          yum install http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/x86_64/apcupsd-gui-3.14.10-1.el6.x86_64.rpm
          yum install http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/i386/apcupsd-3.14.10-1.el6.i686.rpm
          yum install http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/i386/apcupsd-cgi-3.14.10-1.el6.i686.rpm
          yum install http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/i386/apcupsd-gui-3.14.10-1.el6.i686.rpm

YUM will automatically fetch dependent packages like lm_sensors-libs and net-snmp-libs. You can get the packages online from Oracle Public yum, or use your installation DVD.

          # cd /etc/yum.repos.d
          # wget http://public-yum.oracle.com/public-yum-ol6.repo
