I'd like to understand if there is any preferred direction within Oracle around configuring Oracle Linux for native authentication with Active Directory. In particular I want to ensure that when we apply Exadata patch bundles we are fully supported and do not move away from the single vendor stack support model - I'd therefore like to understand whether there is any direction/preference within Oracle support/Exadata development for a particular solution (e.g. winbind/sssd) - and whether any particular solution is tested within Oracle (using Oracle authentication services for Operating Systems and replicating AD content to OID isn't an option available to me - OID will be on the Exadata).
There's no preferred way because the Exadata teams don't do any testing that include alternative authentication methods (like ldap, AD, etc). Our testing utilizes standard username/password authentication.
