OEM install fails with Java app crash

      Good day everyone,

I hope that someone can assist me here. I'm not entirely sure if this post should be in the EM or Java thread, but I want to ultimately install OEM agent.

      Okay, herewith the specs.

      Windows 2008 R2 64-bit
      Oracle 11g R2 (running dataguard)
      One database about 20gb
OEM grid management server running on RHEL 5.3.
      OEM version is

I downloaded the OEM agent for Windows 64-bit. My first issue when trying to install was the pre-req checks failed with OS version 6.1 not compatible. Not entirely sure why it would fail as I have seen Windows 2008 R2 servers with the same version agent installed. So after doing some research, I edited the oraparam.ini file and added 6.1 in the file. Now the pre-req checks passed. The next issue was the Java(TM) 2 Platform Standard Edition binary has stopped working appcrash error. I checked and saw that Java is not installed. Unfortunately, after installing Java, the same error persists.

Do I need to restart the machine after Java is installed or is this not necessary? If so, will this resolved the issue? This is a production machine, and I don't want to arrange for a reboot if this is not going to work.

      Any insights will be helpful

      Thanks a lot
