just feeling confuse from all the read up notes on upgrading from 184.108.40.206 - 220.127.116.11.
The part where it mention that on the target database, one have to:
1. download and install oracle 11g r2 in a new oracle home. and make sure there are no relinking errors.
My question here is,
- does it refer using the 11g r2 installer? and with that i install a new oracle binaries on a new Oracle home.
Important Changes to Oracle Database Patch Sets Starting With 18.104.22.168 [ID 1189783.1]
My confusion starts here:Ideally you should download and unzip all 7 files - but I believe for database only install, the first two zip files are sufficient.
i download the patchset which contain 7 separate files. If i am not wrong , 1of7 and 2of7 can be use as the ' full installation'? I don't really understand the README file.
If i am wrong about the patchset , then where does these files come to use during the upgrading process?Yes - pl see upgrade documentation - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e23633/toc.htm
2. the part where one invoke DBUA to upgrade the database is from the new oracle home /bin right?
I don't see anywhere on the upgrading process where these patchset i have downloaded to be use in any part.Pl also see these MOS Docs

Invoke the runInstaller and install the 188.8.131.52
To upgrade the database:
export ORACLE_HOME=<184.108.40.206 Home path>
type dbua----it should pick from 220.127.116.11 home
dbua -silent -sid <sidname>
I still dont see a full 11.2..0.1 to 18.104.22.168 (linux ) Database instruction upgrade document (as there are full instructions for PSU's). Is it simply load 22.214.171.124 into a new home and run DBUA ?
Yes ,126.96.36.199 and 188.8.131.52 are complete installs - they are not patchsets - see MOS Doc 1189783.1 reference above.

Where is the full 220.127.116.11 install that includes the July 2012 PSU/CPU ? Cant find the download page
The base 18.104.22.168 install does not include July 2012 CPU patches. For that, you will need to install the 22.214.171.124.3 PSU on top of 126.96.36.199
