Socks username/password error thru putty in Windows XP virtual machine

    953366
Hello. I am trying to access a passthru server for a client that uses putty. I am using an XP virtual machine through linux. I have installed all hummingbird socks. I have all IP's in a host file for the socks. I run the scripts for the socks it says done. But when i jump on putty and try the server IP i instantly get a socks username/password error.

Any help would be so appriciated!

I know nothing about hummingbird socks, but I suggest you try to enable verbose login in PuTTy so you can possibly see where it fails. I don't use MS Windows, but I think you can enable logging in the Session tab of PuTTy and then browse the logfile. It might be that you are using the wrong ethernet/network type in your virtual machine that's blocking communication or you have to enable some other password authentication in putty or the sshd_config file on the server.
