Pl identify exact version of "11g" and OS on your PC.
You can use the DMU tool to migrate the database to the new characterset.
If the database is "empty", simply drop the database and re-create it with the AL32UTF8 characterset.
If the database is small or does not contain much data, perform a full export using expdp, drop the database, re-create the database with AL32UTF8 characterset and perform full import.
We have a database on 10.2.0.4 and want to change the character set from WE8ISO8859P1 to AL32UTF8. Can you kindly suggest the impact of doing so and the document having steps for the same.
Thanks in advance.

The process steps to migrate to AL32UTF8 are documented - pl see
An alternative would be to use the DMU tool
My oracle version is 18.104.22.168.0
I want to migrate it from WE8MSWIN1252 to AL32UTF8 with no loss of data.
DMU supports from 22.214.171.124.0 and later versions, but I had 126.96.36.199.0 can I migrate using DMU. If so,what about patches do I need a patch for Microsoft windows server 2008.
So what could be the process for migration of character set.
Appreciated for the solution.

Pl post an official Oracle link where it states that DMU can only be used for 188.8.131.52 and above - I believe this is incorrect - it can be used with 184.108.40.206 person found this helpful
Pl see the links I posted above
The official information about version support is here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/products/globalization/dmu/learnmore/configurations-333837.html
On MS Windows, install patch 12 to 220.127.116.11. On the other hand, an upgrade to 18.104.22.168 is recommended in general.
I choose csscan and csalter method as I don't have support identifier for DMU.
Hope I get solution with that.
